Woman shot, killed near hotel parking garage downtown ST. LOUIS - A woman was shot and killed just before 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Marriott parking garage in downtown St. Louis. Police said the woman was shot several times at the parking garage on North 9th Street and Washington Avenue. What led up to the shooting is unknown.The garage was closed for about two hours as no cars were allowed in or out. William Johnson, a valet who was parking cars at the time of the shooting, said the shooting was “scary” but that it wouldn’t stop him from working. This is the second fatal shooting downtown in a week. Dance instructor arrested on multiple sexual assault charges in Riverside County A Riverside County dance instructor was arrested on Tuesday for sexual assaults involving young girls at a dance studio he owned. Mark Chavarria, 40, owned and operated the Chavarria Institute of the Arts dance studio at 160 South Old Springs Road where several young girls, between 12-14 years old, reported multiple sexual assaults involving Chavarria, according to an Anaheim Police Department news release. The young victims reported that the assaults happened while they were attending the studio.Detectives immediately investigated the incidents and later arrested Chavarria for several sexual assault offenses.
