A hospital in Santa Monica is asking for the public's help to identify a patient who is currently in the intensive care unit.The man, believed to by 62 years old, was brought to Providence Saint John's Health Center late Sunday night. Hospital staff say the man was unresponsive when he was brought to the Santa Monica hospital by police after he was found in the Venice area.Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica is asking for the public's help to identify this patient who has been hospitalized since Sept. 3, 2023. A South Lake Tahoe homeowner scared off a black bear that pushed through the screen door of his backdoor last month.Video captured on the homeowner's Ring floodlight camera showed the bear walking along the backyard of the home, which appears to be on the Tahoe Keys, a residential neighborhood with direct water access and boating docks.In the video, which was taken Aug. 2, the bear can be seen walking up to the backdoor of the house, pausing in front of the screen door before abruptly pushing it in. A man who was fatally stabbed while riding on a Metro platform in downtown Los Angeles Thursday evening has been identified as the search for his killer continues.The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. at the Pershing Square train station, according to the Los Angeles.Responding transit officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound. A teen hit-and-run suspect was arrested in connection with a crash that killed a toddler and injured her mother in Riverside County.The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old boy from Perris, according to the California Highway Patrol.The fatal crash happened near Steele Peak Drive and Palm Street in the Mead Valley area around 7:48 p.m.As the suspect was riding a dirt bike on Steele Peak Drive, he collided with a 3-year-old girl who was riding her bicycle and her mother who was walking alongside her. The pair were walking on the right side of the roadway at the time, CHP said.After the crash, the teen rode away from the scene without rendering aid or contacting the authorities, officials said.The girl was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. 77-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Scooter Accident on West Michigan DriveTUCSON, AZ (September 8, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Kenneth Michael Van Buren was killed in a mobility scooter crash on South 12th Avenue.Officers responded to the scene just before 6:00 a.m., near West Michigan Drive on August 20th.Per reports, Jorge Elfido Reyes Fajardo was driving a northbound Nissan Altima and crossed into oncoming traffic. However, the impact of toll increases on lower-income people is not only about the tolls themselves.Higher tolls are an opportunity cost that impedes families from exploring the Bay Area. Fares for a whole family on BART are prohibitive. Piling into the car and crossing the bridge is probably cheaper. Too many people do not explore outside their neighborhoods because of financial (and other) barriers.Also, tolls are a regressive tax.
